April Ross

April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball athletes to win medals more than once at an Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with Ross at Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the next couple of days. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. Perhaps this is her only opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. But she's convinced that top honors are firmly within reach. Ross told NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best or even a good game and they are able to play well, the team can win a gold medal. "I'm also going to try a little luck." Ross born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. Ross went on to play in numerous activities in Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. In the last sport she stood out. She was named by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the year in 1999, for her performance. Her skills in volleyball won her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles from 2017. But, Ross was an important player in the beach volleyball scene prior to the pair. She has won major events twice, with various partners. The other is an icon of the world of volleyball. From 2007 to 2013 she teamed together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross was a force on the international circuit winning an international title in 2009. In 2012, the duo were awarded silver medals at the London Olympics. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio that could take home the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross competed for USC Trojans in her college the years prior to her professional career. It was a successful performance for Ross during her time at the college level. Her freshman year in 2000 earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Year awards and be an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans get to the Final Four. She endured a great personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still able to achieve the All-American title. In her last two seasons within the team, she guided the Trojans up to the top of the mountain winning consecutive national championships. Her individual achievements have cemented her as a volleyball legend. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross, an USC international relations student, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball levels. Ross's mom died from cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. Ross holds her mother very dearly. And Margie is an ongoing source of encouragement for her on the beaches and throughout her daily life.
