Sheryl underwood is an American actress as well as a comedian and TV host best known for her role in The Talk's daytime co-host role. Born in Arkansas she was raised by her parents in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl is part of a clan who has suffered from a range of difficulties. Sheryl spent the majority of her childhood caring for her sister Frankie and her polio-infected sister. Growing up, she experienced many issues with her mother. Sheryl claims that in one instance her mother stabbed her father over the head because she was becoming too close to her. Sheryl was drafted into the military upon her graduation from college. But her passion was comedy. It was her first time as a female that made it to the 1989 contest Miller Lite Comedy Search. Her TV career started in 1992 as a performer for the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam. She was the host of the TV show Oh Drama! in 2000. Since 2011 she has been hosting as a co-host of the talk show The Talk. In addition she has also been in fictional roles on shows including Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
